Celebrate The Hormel Institute’s 80th anniversary with a fun geocaching event at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center! How it works: Use your detective and GPS reading skills, along with the Geocaching® app, to find four hidden caches.
1. Use your cellphone to download the Geocaching® app to view a map of geocaches. This app will help guide you to each hidden cache.
2. Find the hidden caches. Each one represents a theme that ties into The Hormel Institute — inspire, discover, improve, and history. When you find a cache, you will learn some fun facts about The Hormel Institute.
3. Take one slip from each cache you find. Bring the slip(s) to The Hormel Institute. There are four caches total – you can win a prize for each cache you find. When: For the entire month of May, head out to the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center any day between 6:00am-10:00pm to look for the hidden caches. Registration is NOT required. All caches will be at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center, so please be aware of property lines when exploring. There will not be any caches in the prairie area or in the building.
