Pay Range:
$30.11 – $43.01/hr. – Fulltime, Non-exempt

Starting wage, within the range, will be determined at the time of offer and is dependent upon the experience, qualifications, and training of the successful candidate

The City of Austin is looking for a dedicated professional to step into a newly created role focused on maintaining safe and livable housing conditions.  This position plays a key role in ensuring residential properties meet local, state, and federal housing codes by conducting inspections, identifying violations, coordinating corrective actions, and providing resources to property owners to support compliance.

Key responsibilities include enforcing the Minnesota State Building Code and Austin City Code; conducting regular proactive inspections of residential properties, to ensure compliance with housing codes, health and safety regulations, and building standards.; and determining hazardous building conditions, including the need for maintenance or repair and structure failures.
