Public/Residential Regulations


Hours:
· Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
· 1st & 3rd Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Acceptable Waste – household garbage, plastics, glass, paper, carpet, metals, wood, general junk.
· $87.74 per ton plus tax for solid waste delivered by residential customers
· $89.26 per ton plus tax for solid waste delivered by commercial haulers, except for solid waste delivered by contractor
· $20.00 small load minimum, plus tax
· $10.00 fee for uncovered loads

Additional charges – appliances, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, TVs and electronic recycling.
Contractor may institute a minimum charge of $20 for small loads
Materials not accepted – oil, yard waste, dead animals, paint, batteries, hazardous waste, manure & slate siding

Demolition Material – building materials, wood, sheetrock, siding and shingles
$12.00 per cubic yard plus tax for all demolition material from any source (not including any loads containing metal, glass, paper, plastic, carpet, or cloth)

All loads entering the facility must be covered or tarped. The contractor may institute a fee of $10 for public and $50 for commercial haulers for uncovered loads

Fall Yard Waste Program

The City of Austin provides for an annual fall yard waste program. The City has established the Cook Farm as the city wide leaf disposal site at 1200-27th Avenue NW.

  • Site would be available from late September through late November
  • Site would be open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk
  • Site would be limited to the following yard waste:
    • Leaves
    • Grass
    • Plants from gardens and flowers
  • Compost from previous years yard waste will be available to the public on a first come first serve basis

This program is funded through the revenues generated by the lease at the Waste Transfer Station.
