PAY RANGE
2026 Salary Range is $19.00 – $21.00 per hour.
Starting salary is dependent on experience.

Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (summary)
• Create and lead: Develop lesson plans, curriculum, and special event ideas for youth programs that are fun, engaging, and impactful.
• Support program operations: Assist with planning, marketing, scheduling, supervision, and evaluating Parks & Recreation programs.
• Help guide seasonal staff: Provide training, direction, and support to seasonal team members.
• Promote community engagement: Help spread the word about department programs, activities, and events.
• Build administrative skills: Assist with emails, mailings, phone communication, staff scheduling, and seasonal time entry.
• Deliver excellent customer service: Interact with participants, families, and community members in a friendly, professional manner.
• Oversee facility use: Open and secure buildings, set up and take down equipment, and ensure patrons have a safe, positive experience.
• Jump in where needed: Support various Parks & Recreation activities and projects across the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from a Parks & Recreation, Education, or related degree program at an accredited college or university
Other
- Ability to work the full summer season including daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hour; preferred start date between May 18 and May 26, 2026
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and reference check required.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working with children and youth
- Background in outdoor recreation programs
- Familiarity with sports such as soccer, baseball, tennis, or track & field
- At least two years of related post-secondary education or six months of relevant work experience
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and/or program registration software
