Susan Radloff

Susan Radloff grew up in Austin and began playing the violin with the Austin Symphony in the 10th grade. After graduating from Mankato State University and teaching in Wisconsin, she returned to Austin and taught beginner orchestra lessons at all ten area elementary schools. As a music educator in Austin for over 30 years, she dedicated her life, career, and expertise to teaching multiple generations of musicians, regardless of students’ backgrounds or prior musical knowledge. Susan served as the President of the local Noon Lions Club, started the Seven Springs String Camp in her garage, and played in numerous pit orchestras for local theatrical productions. In 2024, the Austin Symphony Orchestra permanently named the first violin chair in honor of Susan Radloff, who has been its Concertmaster since 1986.
