• May 15, 2026 – On Tuesday and Wednesday, Alcon placed the new sanitary structure on 14th Street SW. They then replaced a structure along the fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday. Next week, the contractor will do the repairs on 4th Avenue SW between 14th Street & 12th Streets SW. This will require 4th Ave SW to be closed for that day. For the following week, after Memorial Day, May 26th through May 30th, they will do two repairs on 4th Avenue NW between 1st St & 4th St NW. This will require that stretch to be closed. Please follow the detour during that week.
• May 8, 2026 – Alcon plans to show up on Monday (May 11th) and start installing the structures on 4th Avenue SW and 14th Street SW on Tuesday & Wednesday.
• August 8, 2025 – Bids for the project were opened on July 29th, 2025. The low bidder was Alcon Excavating, Inc. The Austin City Council awarded the construction contract to Alcon Excavating, Inc. at the August 4th Council meeting.

• May 15, 2026 – This week, Austin Utilities replaced watermain and ran the tests in the block between 13th St NW and the alley behind the apartments. Next week, AU plans to tie-in the services on that block and place temporary watermain on the block between 12th & 13th Streets.
• May 8, 2026 – Ulland Bros. started with the removal of the pavement, curb & gutters, and driveway approaches this week. Next week, Austin Utilities will be on site to set up temporary water lines and start watermain replacement.

• September 8th, 2025 – It has been confirmed that this project will be postponed until the 2026 construction season. Affected residents will receive a letter from the City discussing assessments. Ulland Bros. will develop and present a new project schedule to the City in early Spring of 2026.
• August 18th, 2025 – Ulland Bros. met with City Engineers about potential scheduling changes moving forward. We will inform residents as things develop.
• August 11th, 2025 – Ulland Bros. intend to start removals of pavement and curb & gutter next week. Austin Utilities will then follow by setting up temporary water mains.
• August 4th, 2025 – This week, the contractor informed the City that their sewer construction crew will not be available to start until the week of August 18th, vs. August 11th that was previously stated. They will not start with removals until that week so not to leave the street without pavement for a week.
• June 28th, 2025 – Ulland Brothers may start doing some preliminary work on the week of August 4th, but the intentions are to start the bulk of removals on the following week of August 11th.
• June 21st, 2025 – Ulland Brothers is planning to start doing some preliminary work on the week of August 4th.
• June 2, 2025 – Ulland Brothers still intends to start work in the in late-July to early-August.

- Project Updates:
• May 15, 2026 – This week, Ulland Bros. have returned to adjust the manholes and make other final repairs. They plan to put the final layer of asphalt down on Saturday morning (May 16th).
• October 6, 2025 – Next week, the contractor will start cutting out asphalt and placing the castings and lids on the sewer manholes located in the street.
• September 15, 2025 – This week, the turf sub-contractor placed the sod and hydro-seeded. The street will need a final clean-up, then the project will be done until the 2026 construction season when the street will receive the final layer of asphalt.
• September 8, 2025 – This week, the contractor cleaned up most of the project, graded and prepped the boulevards and disturbed yards for sodding or seeding. They also removed most of the traffic control. Next week, the turf sub-contractor will be in place the sod and hydro-seeding. Just a reminder; the final layer of asphalt will not be placed until early in the construction season of 2026.
• September 1, 2025 – This week, the contractor will start cleaning up the job site. Next week, the final boulevard grading and turf establishment is planned.
• August 25, 2025 – This week, the contractor had a paving crew become available, so they finished grading the base on Thursday & Friday, and Friday afternoon they were able to place the first layer of asphalt. Next week, they will continue grading the boulevard.
• August 18, 2025 – This week, the contractor started doing some final grading of the street and grading of the boulevards. Next week, they intend to finish with the grading of the street because the asphalt paving crew is expected to be intown for the week of September 1st.
• August 11, 2025 – This week, the concrete sub-contractor finished pouring all concrete (C&G, sidewalk and driveway approaches). Next week, the contractor may be in to finish grading the aggregate street base and prep for asphalt pavement. Currently, the paving crew is expected to be intown the week of August 25th.
• August 4, 2025 – This week, the concrete sub-contractor started pouring sidewalk on Tuesday and completed most of it this week. On Friday, they will start prepping for a curb & gutter machine by setting string line. This will make driveways inaccessible for residents. Next week, they intend to start on Monday with the curb & gutter, followed by pedestrian ramps and driveway approaches.
• July 28, 2025 – This week, the remainder of the drain tile / sump main was installed. The contractor excavated the rest of the street section, tested the subbase, then proceeded to place the aggregate base on the street. The next step will be pouring the curb & gutter, sidewalk and driveway approaches – these may happen later next week once the concrete sub-contractor is able to start.
• July 21, 2025 – This week, Ulland Bros. finished installing the storm sewer and structures and continued sub-cutting and placing drain tile, getting through the 10th St intersection. Next week, they will continue placing drain tile and start placing aggregate subbase material.
• July 14, 2025 – This week, Ulland Bros. finished with the sanitary and water services and started replacing the storm sewer. On the East half of the project, they subcut the road, placed drain tile and aggregate road base. Next week, the plan is to finish with the storm sewer and continue sub-cutting and placing drain tile.
• July 7, 2025 – This week, Ulland Bros. finished sanitary sewer construction and start replacing storm sewer. Austin Utilities completed the watermain replacement. Next week, the contractor will start the street excavation and edge drain/sump mains from 4th Dr. to 9th St SW. Meanwhile, water and sanitary services will be replaced from 9th St to 12th St SW, then storm sewer will be placed along the West half of the project.
• June 30, 2025 – This week, the contractor continued with sanitary sewer pipe and structures replacement, starting at 10th St and moving West. Austin Utilities replaced watermain on the Eastern half of the project. Next week, Ulland Bros. will finish with sanitary sewer and start replacing sanitary services while Austin Utilities should complete replacing the watermain and start water services. Once that has been completed, they will start replacing Storm sewer pipe and structures.
• June 23, 2025 – This week, the contractor had sanitary sewer pipe and structures delivered and once the rain finally stopped, they were able to start replacing the sanitary sewer on Friday; starting at the 9th St intersection and moving West. They will finish the block between 9th & 10th on Saturday. Next week, Ulland Bros. will continue with sanitary sewer while Austin Utilities will come to start replacing watermain.
• June 9, 2025 – Throughout the week, the contractor removed more curb & gutter and driveway approaches. Austin Utilities came in to start temporary water. Next week, Ulland Bros. plans on starting sanitary sewer replacement closer to the end of the week.
• June 2, 2025 – On Friday, June 6th, the asphalt milling sub-contractor was onsite to remove all old pavement. Next week, Ulland Brothers plans on doing some curb & gutter removal, driveway removal and may start on sanitary sewer main replacement. Austin Utilities will be in to set up temporary water main.
• May 27, 2025 – On the week of Monday, June 2nd, Ulland Bros. are planning to set up Erosion control, Traffic control and start removing pavement. Also, Austin Utilities are expected to start setting up temporary water main for the affected residences.
• April 7, 2025 – Bids for the project were opened on April 1st. The low bidder was Ulland Brothers, Inc. The Austin City Council awarded the construction contract to Ulland Brothers, Inc. at the April 7th council meeting.

• November 10, 2025 – No that the project is all but complete, the contractor has just a few more items to address on the site, including ditch grading & turf establishment in a couple of spots and addressing a few mailboxes.
• November 3, 2025 – Late this week the contractor adjusted the last driveway approach. Next week, they will finish grading out the area around and hydroseed.
• October 27, 2025 – Next week the contractor will be in to place the last driveway adjustment, then the last of the topsoil and turf establishment will be placed.
• September 8, 2025 – This week, Ulland Bros. graded the slopes of the ditch and hydro-seeded the disturbed & re-graded soils. They have just a few items to touch up and then the project should be completed.
• September 8, 2025 – This week, Ulland Bros. prepped and place the 2nd (final) layer of asphalt on the street. Then, they graded the ditches along the new street surface. Next week, the contractor will be in to hydro-seed the disturbed ground, adjust a few driveway approaches, and make several other fixes remaining on the project.
• September 1, 2025 – This week, the City milled along several of the driveways to create better tie-in. Next week, the contractor will place the final layer of asphalt. Then they need to grade the ditch along the street, place topsoil and seed and replace one driveway approach.
• August 25, 2025 – This week, the contractor regraded the entire street and prep for asphalt pavement. An Ulland Bros. paving crew became available on Thursday, so that afternoon they placed the first layer of asphalt on the street. Next week, they will address the ditch slopes. At this time, we are expecting the second layer of asphalt in several weeks.
• August 18, 2025 – This week, the contractor removed the concrete section, replaced the storm sewer at that location and reclaimed the paved North section of the street. Next week, they will regrade the entire street and prep for asphalt pavement. The paving crew is expected to be in town on the week of September 1st.
• August 11, 2025 – Next week, the contractor plans to remove the concrete section, replace the storm sewer at that location and reclaim the paved Northern section of the street. Then, they will regrade the entire street and prep for asphalt pavement. Currently, the paving crew is expected to be intown the week of August 25th.
• July 21, 2025 – UPDATE: Due largely to all the rain, Ulland Brothers now intends to start work on the week of August 11th.

• August 25, 2025 – This week, Ulland’s came in to touch up the sanitary spot repair sections. A private residence construction project dug into the street to connect a water service to the watermain on Thursday to stay in front of the paving crew. The pavers showed up on Thursday evening and paved the entire street on Friday. Next week, the contractor will just review and finish up any last items.
• August 11, 2025 – This week, on Friday the contractor addressed the gravel patches remaining from the sanitary sewer repairs. Next week, they intend to mill off the remainder of the top layer for the entire project. Currently, the paving crew is expected to be intown the week of August 25th.
• July 21, 2025 – Ulland Brothers did the sanitary sewer spot repairs located on the North end of the project on Wednesday. The contractor is now planning to be in to mill the top surface on the week of August 11th.
• July 14, 2025 – Ulland Brothers plans on doing the sanitary sewer spot repairs located on the North end of the project by the Shirley Theel Park starting on Wednesday, July 23rd.
• July 7, 2025 – UPDATE: Ulland Brothers now intends to start work on the week of July 21st.

• November 10th, 2025 – This week, the contractor prepped the remainder of the trail for asphalt and paved in on Wednesday and Thursday morning. On Friday, another crew came in to start grading the disturbed soil back up to the edges of pavement. Next week, they will continue the soil grading and apply a turf establishment.
• November 3rd, 2025 – This week, the contractor again was not able to get a paving crew in to place the bituminous trail. Their plan for next week is to final grade the trail on Monday, finish paving on Tuesday or Wednesday and then finish grading & seeding along the edges of the trail after that.
• October 27th, 2025 – This week, the contractor was not able to get a paving crew in to place the bituminous trail. Their plan is for next week to finish paving and then finish grading & seeding along the edges of the trail.
• October 20th, 2025 – This week, the remainder of the trail was graded out for paving. Next week, the contractor hopes to finish paving and then will finish grading & seeding along the edges of the trail.
• October 3rd, 2025 – On Thursday, the contractor returned to continue excavating and grading the trail. They intend to continue with that through next week, with paving tentatively planned for the week of the 17th.
• September 29th, 2025 – Again this week, the contractor did not do any work due to the overall wet conditions of the Center. Next week, they should return to continue grading and prepping for additional paving.
• September 22nd, 2025 – This week, the contractor did not do any work due to the rain and overall wet conditions of the Center. Next week, they will continue to monitor and may return to continue grading and prepping for additional paving in the latter half of the week.
• September 15th, 2025 – This week, the contractor paved the South trails, and continued to excavate, grade and pave the trails around the Interpretive Center and parking lot and along the South edge of the Pond to the Sugar Shack. They continued to excavate and grade the Black Trail from the Sugar Shack to the Northeast. Next week, they will continue towards the Fire Observation Tower with prep-work as well as asphalt paving.
• September 8th, 2025 – This week, the contractor came in and reclaimed the existing asphalt trail South of Dobbins Creek this week, then did some light grading, and added some additional base. Next week, the intentions are to pave those South trails on Tuesday or Wednesday.
• August 18th, 2025 – The City and contractor had the Pre-construction meeting, discussing times frames and potential issues. The current plan is for the contractor to start reclaiming, grading and potentially re-paving the segments of trail South of Dobbins Creek on the week of September 1st.
• August 11th, 2025 – The City was in to place stakes in preparation for the contractor to come in next week or two and start removing and regrading the trail sections South of Dobbins Creek.
• August 4th, 2025 – Ulland Bros. started working on this trail project on the South trails through the woods on the South side of the Dobbins Creek crossings.
• July 7th, 2025 – Ulland Bros. intends to start work on this project once Hansen Hauling has completed the Oakland Avenue W. trail Project.
• April 7, 2025 – Bids for the project were opened on April 2nd. The low bidder was Ulland Brothers, Inc. The Austin City Council awarded the construction contract to Ulland Bros. at the April 7th council meeting.

- Project Updates:
• November 10, 2025 – This week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. started lining sanitary sewers in the Wildwood neighborhood and moved to the Sterling neighborhood a little later in the week. Next week, they will very much continue that pattern, planning to line sewers in Wildwood on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. Then, line sewers in Sterling on Wednesday & Thursday.
• November 3, 2025 – This week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. delivered equipment to town with the plan that starting Monday, they will start lining sewer in the Wildwood Neighborhood. Later in the week, they will also line sewer in the Sterling Neighborhood.
• October 13, 2025 – Last week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. was able to finish with the sewer main cleaning and televising. Their plans to begin the lining process is yet TBD. They do have until Fall of 2026 to complete this project.
• October 3, 2025 – This week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. returned and continued with the cleaning and videoing of sanitary sewer mains, focusing on 4th St NW. Next week, then intend to continue.
• September 29, 2025 – This week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. did not complete any sewer cleaning or videoing. Next week, they may return. If so, they will are initially planning on working on 4th St NW
• September 22, 2025 – This week, Municipal Pipe Tool Co. came into town to start cleaning and videoing the sewer segments. Next week, they will continue cleaning and videoing. The pipe-lining process will start a week or so after that.
