The City of Austin, Minnesota hereby announces the vacancy for the seat of Third Ward Council Member on the Austin City Council. This vacancy is due to Council Member Poshusta’s resignation, and the City Council is seeking qualified individuals to fill the seat.
Interested candidates must be registered voters in the Third Ward and must meet the qualifications required by the City Charter. The selected individual will serve the remainder of the current term until the next regular election in 2026.
How to Apply: Submit an affidavit of candidacy, resume, and a letter of interest outlining relevant experience and vision for the community to the City Clerk’s Office at 500 4th Avenue NE by May 13, 2025.
A special meeting will be held the week of May 26, 2025, during which the City Council will interview potential candidates. A candidate will be appointed at the June 2nd, 2025, City Council meeting.
